19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that He opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
As I reflect this Monday morning, I am delighted to look back over yesterday’s service and to say that I am pastor of Divine Unity Community Church. I am convinced that we are a small part of God’s big plan in this city, and in His kingdom. As we wrap up the first month of our series MOVE, I am excited to see God’s presence impact people’s lives. We also had a wedding yesterday afternoon, and it is a joy to see people celebrate and cherish the sanctify of Marriage between a man and woman striving to honor God. Over the past several months I have seen and recognized an answered prayer within DUCC. Our services have been very diverse in ethnicity, age, and spiritual maturity. This is an answered prayer because we want to model Divine Unity in our church. Not something that is just said, but something that is lived.
My hope and prayer is that we all will continue experience Christ’s love, power, and presence on a daily and weekly basis. I do believe unity & diversity is one of the greatest expressions of the Holy Spirit’s power and work as documented in Acts 1-2. Family, God is doing something at DUCC, and I believe that we are only catching a glimpse of where the Lord is taking us, and what He is going to use us for.
I have a challenge for us as a growing church family:
1) Be intentional about extending our reach to one another. Spend time getting to know one another via conversation, and care before and after service.
2)) Get involved in a DUG, and invite others to do the same. Pray for DUCC that we may press forward toward the mark that God has for us.
3) Let us all work together to make DUCC a welcoming atmosphere where people may meet, and know that Jesus Christ is the Risen Savior!
Love each of you with the Love of Christ!
