Monday Moments with Pastor Chris
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” ~ Psalm 133:1
This weekend was awesome! Some great things are happening in the Kingdom of God, and I am blessed to witness and experience some of those things. I had an opportunity to minister at two different churches this weekend, and welcome new members to DUCC.
Men of Standard
On Saturday I had an opportunity to minister on the Art of Accountability at the Men Of Standard Conference with a good and longtime friend of mine Pastor Henry Eggleston. The Art of Accountability is one of my favorite messages and studies. I have preached it about 4 times in the past and it gets better each time! Living in transparency, and having accountability changed my life. I am very grateful for the men that God has placed in my life to encourage and ensure that I am not disqualified from the very gospel I preach. As always it is good seeing men come out on a Saturday morning to grow closer to The Lord.
On Sunday I was with Pastor Art and Word ministries. Pastor Art and Co-Pastor Dee Dean have served as mentors and friends in our ministry and lives for quite a few years now. Ministering at Word ministries refreshed me, and reminded me of the many things and people God put in place in Harrisonburg that I may walk in my calling, and that DUCC would have life. I want to personally say a public thank you to the Dean family for the spiritual seeds they have sown into my community of believers and many of the people that attend DUCC. Truly I am reminded that I stand on the shoulders of Spiritual Giants, and I have an opportunity to do what I can do because they (the Deans) said yes to The Lord years ago! Thank you Pastor Art and Dee Dee!
Another highlight from, Pastor AJ preached at DUCC while I was at Word. From what I have heard, Pastor AJ did an excellent job. I am completely confident that DUCC is in good hands when I am not there. Pastor AJ and I preached the same scripture, and message in two different places. The Lord spoke 2 Chronicles 20 and we felt led to preach the same text in reference to Steps to Victory in two places. Without us knowing The Lord revealed the same points to both us in our individual time of preparation. Divine Unity is not something we say it is something we live. When the idea to do this came about, Pastor AJ said, “Big bro, you make preaching fun!” I am confident that joy of The Lord is our strength, and God gives us joy unspeakable when we are surrendered to Him!
Expansion & Growth- New Members!
We kicked off our newest new member cohort this past Sunday with 10 new people! It is always exciting and humbling to see people buy into the vision of DUCC. I am excited to see what God does in the lives of these new members.
