Philippians 2:5 “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus…”
Romans 5:1-2 1Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
It feels good to be back preaching at DUCC! It had been 3 weeks since I preached at DUCC. We have had some awesome men of God bring forth the word the past few Sundays! As Cherelle and I were on the way home, I shared with her how service at DUCC is like a special event that never ends. Truly we are riding God’s grace wave and experiencing some miraculous things. To see the continual growth and radical transformation in people’s lives encourages me day by day!
We kicked off our mini-series on C.A.S.H. this week. What a mighty and powerful time did we have! We covered Romans 5:1-5. It is so refreshing to know that we are justified by faith, and not by works of the flesh, but through faith in Jesus Christ. Thank You Jesus for giving us access to the Father! Author Pink, a 20th Century evangelist said, “The highest privilege of fallen man is to have access unto the presence of God.” It is in the grace that WE STAND! It is encouraging to be reminded by scripture that we should have confidence in our relationship with God, not in our struggle with sin, and the troubles of this world!
C.A.S.H. is actually a principle that a friend and I developed for ministerial training, and we are realizing on a daily basis how this principle applies to the life of the believer. C.A.S.H. actually captures the preaching and teaching culture at DUCC. When people come into preach, I do not look at style or charisma, but I look for C.A.S.H.:
- Character– is Christ being revealed in your everyday life (Phil 2:5)
- Authenticity– is the message being preached affecting and changing the preacher’s life (1 Cor. 9:27)
- Substance– is the message filled with scripture & Godly substance (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- Humility– we recognize that we cannot do what we do without Christ (Phil. 2:13)
As we move Step by Step to receive God’s power, promises, and presence in our lives we need “C.A.S.H.”. C.A.S.H. will teach us the core essentials for housing and keeping the things that God releases in our lives. I am believing that we will see God do some amazing things in the unseen areas of our lives, that will bear fruit that point to Christ publically. My hope is that we all grow to the measure and stature of Jesus Christ.
There is something in the water at DUCC! Congrats to Nate & Tabitha Parrott on the birth of their son Nathaniel Jr.! He is a big boy, born at 9lbs 1oz.
Special congrats to the A-Team, Pastor AJ & Angel, on the expectation of their first child! I love this couple, and I am very excited to see the Lord adding to their family! I had no ideas that this announcement would bring me to tears, but it just showed me how grateful I am to see God’s work in other people’s lives.
When I have the opportunity to reflect on these marvelous things, I am reminded that and encouraged that we serve a Mighty and Loving God!
