DUCC Celebrating two years… and Chloe Madison Johnson is about to celebrate 1 year. Feberuary is a big month for me, and Cherelle and I are grateful to celebrate our daughter’s 1st birthday on 2-13-14. She is full of personality, and ready to either preach or sing. Check out the pictures!
Last week I had the opportunity to teach at DUU, our campus ministry, for the first time since we started DUCC. What an honor and pleasure to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those students. We had a great time, and the fellowship at IHOP brought back many memories. Shout out to Marcus & Tempest for their labor on the campuses for the Gospel of Christ!
This weekend was AWESOME! We kicked off the weekend with our monthly midnight prayer meeting, and things seemed to just climb to another level from there. Midnight prayer we recalled many of the things we have experienced over the past two years at DUCC & in our personal lives. Furthermore we also began to listen to the Lord for the impossible things that He has for us. Prayer is just as much about listening as it is talking. We believe the Lord has some miraculous things for our future, and for this church!
We had our first banquet as a church, and I was overwhelmed with joy as I looked out at the many supporters we have. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be connected to such great people! I looked around the banquet and I was really really humbled as I looked at many giants in the faith, and movers in the community. I had a special guest, Pastor Rondell Davis, also my cousin who was the keynote speaker. He brought a mighty and encouraging word that I believe challenged us to believe God for even bigger things! Believing that we can have a major impact in the city of Harrisonburg! Pastor Rondell and his wife have been and are a true blessing to our church and my family! Love those two people! I also had the opportunity to recognize some special volunteers within our church that have help to make this church what it is! I tell people all the time that I am only as good as my team, and I believe we have a pretty good team at DUCC! We haven’t arrived, but we are pressing towards the mark!
“Nothing about this says two years.”
As we celebrate 2 years we are also having guest preachers/pastors that are ministering to our church on Sunday mornings. This past Sunday we had Pastor Donnell Jones from Grace Covenant DC. He is not only a part of our Every Nation family, but he is also part of my spiritual heritage. I actually played football with his cousin, and two of the guys that walked with as I received the Lord were discipled by him, over 10 years ago. The word he ministered uplifted us, and I am confident that the Lord is preparing us for greater. As Pastor Donnell and I were talking after service, he recalled his experience at DUCC, and said “Nothing about this says two years.” He saw the Lord’s grace and favor resting, and ruling in our church. It is my prayer that this will be the testimony for many years to come. That we exceed normal expectations, not for our glory, but as a testament to the power of God. I am believing that this is a year of Release, where the Lord is going to guide us to fulfill even more of our potential as a church and as a people!
Meditate on Hebrews 11:6 this week: “Without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever comes to Him, must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.“
