Closing the Celebration:
This week I had opportunity and privilege to return to the pulpit at DUCC. Over the past month we have had guest pastors that have served as pillars of faith for the church through their impact on my life. The whole month has been based off of Hebrews 12:1-2 that paints the picture of us running a Christian journey being cheered on by those that support and care for you. We have been showered with love and encouragement over this month! Thanks to all that have participated and supported us this month as we celebrated 2 years at DUCC.
As we closed out the celebration we had our first annual thanksgiving offering where we create the space for people to simply give a monetary offering to the Lord that captures their gratitude for what the Lord has done in their lives and in DUCC. Seeing the outcome of this overflowed me with joy to see how grateful people are unto the Lord. We believe that one of the things the Lord has instructed us (leadership) to do is create a culture of gratitude. So this offering wasn’t to meet a deficit, it was an expression of thanksgiving unto the Lord. I am believe that the Lord is going to continue to richly bless DUCC and those that are Called, Connected, and Committed to the work of the Lord here in Harrisonburg Va!
Going to the Next Level:
As we continued to look at Hebrews, I want to highlight Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore!” Hebrews 13:8- one of the greatest and most overlook characteristics of Jesus is his consistency. Hebrews 13:8 is the connecting fiber for us with the many people from Hebrews 11: Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Jeremiah, Joseph, and the list goes on. It encourages us that: If God can use them, then He can and will use us. In Hebrews 11-13, we are strategically being taught how to embrace the promises of God in our lifetime. Hebrews 11 lays the examples, that we may one day be a part of the testimony of God’s faithfulness and those that ran the race before us. I am confident in this as DUCC embraces this 3rd year of ministry that it is our time to run the race! The Lord is calling us to another level. A new level of faith, a new level of obedience, a new level of worship, a new level of grace, a new level of productivity, ultimately a new level of intimacy with Him. If you want to go to the next level as well, check out the 8 Lessons we pulled from Hebrews 11 & 12 by clicking here.
I am excited to see where the Lord is taking us in the future at Divine Unity Community Church, and I am glad that you are either walking with us by prayer or by participation. Check out what our inheritance as believers is from Hebrews 12:28 “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”
