Spiritual Family & ID retreat
One of the greatest gifts we have in this world is friendship. I can truly say that I have been blessed with some wonderful friends that are what we call “Spiritual Family.” This weekend Cherelle hosted her first IronDresses leadership retreat at our home and we had some spiritual family that came into town. This means Edwin & Arial Jones as well as Troy & Chaka Burnett came in town and stayed with us. It was refreshing and encouraging to have those 2 couples with us. It is a blessing to have covenant friends like them in our lives and ministry. In addition to the spiritual family, one of the most satisfying things for me in life is seeing my wife walk in her purpose. A wife surrendered to and operating in the will of God is a beautiful thing! Love you Cherelle!
Our men’s ministry had our monthly men’s breakfast this past Saturday morning, where Minister Troy Burnett ministered on the importance of evangelism. Troy has a heart for the lost and his life’s mission is to reach ppl for the gospel. Troy was one of the founders of our college ministry DuRaG ministries. I know without him I would not be the man that I am, and I am blessed to look up and see the many lives that the Lord has impacted through Troy living a life unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe when the men are in place we will see change in our city!
Take the City- Macedonian Call
We jumped into Acts 16 this week. Looking Acts 16:10 Apostle Paul had a vision of a man from Macedonia saying “Come help us”, and from that vision they concluded that the Lord had called them to Macedonia to preach the gospel. This helps us understand that the best help we can give to a dying world is the Gospel of Jesus Christ which brings forth life! It is imperative that we preach that 1) God designed us and has a plan for our life, 2) Sin has separated us from God and ruin that planned, 3) Jesus Christ is the manifestation of God in the earth to bring salvation and restore our relationship with our Creator (God), and 4) we must accept this truth by faith, and live a life that is acceptable to Christ.
There are a ton of people that are like the Macedonian man in Paul’s vision that is asking, crying, and reaching out for “HELP”. To know the peace, healing, love, and restoration of the Gospel.
I challenge you this week to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with someone. Pray for the opportunity, and the words to speak to those that you sense are calling out for help. It might be on your job, in the store, or a family member. People need help, and Jesus is the help that they need!
2 Scriptures to close with:
Colossians 1:28 “Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…”
