Monday Moments- Take The City
Hey family and friends, this past weekend was phenomenal. Hear a few highlights of my travels and experiences.
Myself and a few others members of DUCC and our Campus ministry had the opportunity to go to a Prophetic Gathering Conference sponsored by our Every Nation Church Network. This conference focused on operating in the prophetic and intercessory prayer at Grace covenant Chantilly. The theme this year was 2 Ears 1 Mouth. To say the least this conference was awesome. Challenged us to learn what it means to sit and listen in prayer and how to hone in on the voice of God speaking to us through scripture, images, and even vocally. I am confident that God still speaks, but we rarely listen. #PG2014.
Chloe gone for the wknd
Chloe hung out with my parents while we were away at the conference, but she had the opportunity to also celebrate one of her good friends’ birthday, Hayden. She and Hayden have developed a unique bond, and we are grateful for the many others that have already played a vital part in Chloe’s life. Special thanks to living in Community, you all know who you are!
Someone Drank the water!
We had a special announcement this Sunday, guess what??? Someone else is expecting a baby! We have consistently had the joy of celebrating new life both spiritually and physically at our church. I want to say a special congrats to Roy & Britnie McDonald as they embrace there child!!!
We had some special guest with us this weekend at DUCC. Our affiliate network, Grace Network hosted a leadership training at our church this weekend. About 25 leaders from other churches in the network spend a weekend learning and growing through great teaching and fellowship with leaders and pastors from the network. This is always an energizing time for us at DUCC too because we get to fellowship with new people, and greatly encouraged by people like John Manzano & Dick Blackwell, and many more. If we want to change the world, we must develop healthy leaders, huge shout out to Grace Network and their labor in the Kingdom of God.
TAKE THE CITY:
As we have been going through this series, “Take the City” at DUCC, I believe the Lord is lifting us to a new level and extending our reach to the lives that are around us. We had over 80ppl make a pledge this past Sunday to share the gospel, their testimony, and invite someone to church over the new month. So we are expecting for many many lives to be intentionally impacted by the Gospel of Jesus Christ over the next month, and beyond.
Service at DUCC this past weekend was amazing. Having the opportunity to take communion and celebrate the sacrifice of Christ is always a special moment. Having the opportunity to share the gospel through preaching and teaching is a highlight of mine too. We had a packed house, and I think it is pretty clear that we have outgrown our church. Special shout out to the many people that were seated in the overflow section and watched the live stream. We are looking forward to the things the Lord has ahead of us, whether it is another building or 2 services we believe that the harvest is plentiful!
Speaking of the harvest being plentiful, we had quite a few people make new commitments to the Lord. That is one of the greatest moments in church service, when someone receives Christ! Family and friends wherever you are, I am sure that someone is waiting to hear the gospel of Christ. Share the good news with them asap! People need to know that they can be free from heartache, pain, fear, anxiety, shame, and so much more.
