What mighty God we serve… Got a quite a few things going on from this past week. Hope you enjoy these Monday Moments!
MOVE FOR LIFE: This past Saturday we celebrated the Harrisonburg Pregnancy Center’s Move for Life fundraiser. Harrisonburg Pregnancy Center is a ministry that reaches out to women who are facing either unexpected or crisis pregnancies. I sit on the board for this ministry and it is amazing to see and hear the many lives that it has affected, and the hope of the many lives it will affect. I encourage you to keep the Harrisonburg Pregnancy Center in prayer as we strive to fulfill our mission. For more info on Harrisonburg Pregnancy Center visit www.harrisonburgpregnancy.org.
Baby Mosley: Speaking of babies, Congrats to Angel & AJ! They have welcomed baby Ailynn Jordan Mosley! They have a very pretty little girl and we are excited to see how the Lord is going to use the Mosley family to change the world!
Volunteer Appreciation This weekend we celebrated the many people that help make DUCC a unique and functional church. I believe that a church’s ministry is only as good as its volunteers, and I have a great team of volunteers. There are many people who put in a great deal of work that the ministry of Divine Unity Community Church is of high quality, reaching the lost and growing new believers in a fruitful relationship with Christ. I can’t say thank you enough to those who invest in the vision of this church.
DUCC is growing: We are experiencing rapid and consistent growth. It is not the number of people that are in the church that excite me more than the opportunity we have to impact lives with the gospel. We are filling some growth pains at the church. We have been at or beyond capacity for the past few weeks, and with Resurrection Sunday coming up it is going to be interesting. We are in the midst of some decisions and are hoping to find a way to make room for the many people that are going to come to DUCC in their journey to know and grow in Christ. I had the opportunity to meet with Pastor David Houston who serves as a church consultant within our Every Nation family. He flew in from out of town to observe service, and to meet with me. His findings and wisdom was absolutely encouraging. I am accepting the fact that the Lord has called DUCC to this city to make a huge impact for the gospel!
Take the City… We had an awesome service this past Sunday. There are continually people who are recognizing the power and presence of Christ in their lives. This Take The City Series has been phenomenal, and it is a reminder that the Gospel of Jesus Christ still works. In Harrisonburg alone there are approximately 21,000 people who put themselves in a category of having no religious affiliation! We need to do some praying, preaching, and living out of the gospel! There are people who need Christ, and we have an opportunity to share the good news. As we studied Acts 16 yesterday, we discovered that our priorities should be to Pray, Praise, and Preach the gospel. I want to encourage you with this: Prayer is an invitation to God, and Praise is an agreement with God! Will you invite and agree with God this week through the way you live, and by sharing the gospel with someone this week?
