Happy Monday family and friends. I am excited to share with you this Monday.
DUCC officially has a commercial that is being aired on local stations here in Harrisonburg. Quite a few people have contacted me telling me how much they enjoyed seeing DUCC on TV. This is just another step to taking the city. If you haven’t seen it on TV yet, or you are not in the Harrisonburg area please check it out on youtube: http://youtu.be/IFNDl_mrgNA.
This past Thursday Cherelle & I hosted a fellowship/breakfast for our campus ministry, Divine Unity University, aka DUU. We had 28 people in our house, and it was absolutely amazing. Students from JMU, Bridgewater, and Mary Baldwin gathered for a Johnson home-cooked meal, fun, and meaningful conversation. Hosting the college students reminded me of the many years DuRaG looked for home in Harrisonburg, and now DUCC is in place to be that home for many students. The students were very grateful for this time, and this energized Cherelle & I even the more. I want to say a big thank you to Marcus & Tempest for the wonderful job they are doing with the campus ministry.
Lady J Photo Shoot
It is already May, and this is a HUGE month for my wife Cherelle as she is having her first Women’s ID Conference, and the official launch of her book. This past Friday, Cherelle had her photo shoot in preparation for the conference and further IronDresses activity. Again I am very excited and humble to witness what the Lord is doing in her life. Please visit her website for more information about the ministry and the conference: www.irondresses.com.
Jonah Series: Stop Running
Yesterday we launched into a new mini-series out of the book of Jonah to close this Take the City series. I promise you there is so much more in that book than Jonah being swallowed by a big fish! Jonah known as the “Running” prophet, chose to run from the city rather than Take the City with the Word of God. This past Sunday we had a powerful time journey through Jonah 1 as we discovered that the Lord has 1) Delivered a word to our city, 2) We make Disobedient Decisions when God’s plan doesn’t match ours, and 3) We put other people in Danger when we are disobedient! I hope and pray that you are encouraged to share the gospel with someone this week!
