Happy Fathers’ day again to all the fathers out there. Truly a day worth celebrating. I feel like I have been privileged to have one of the greatest earthly fathers that I am continually learning from day by day. In addition to that I want to say a special shout out to the Spiritual Fathers. These are the pastors, leaders, and mentors that have helped people in their walk with the Lord! I have also been blessed with some men that have fathered me in different season of life and ministry. Thank God for godly men!
My Father’s Day:
Chloe did it up this year, well Cherelle did and Chloe cosigned J. Chloe and I have matching Chuck’s now, but I must admit she looks much better in hers that I do in mine. I must say I would not be the father I am without the wife that I have. Cherelle has encouraged and helped me in so many ways to be the man that Chloe needs me to be. So I want to say a huge thank you to Cherelle for parenting with me. Chloe has been an absolute joy to father, and I am excited to pass on the love of the Heavenly Father to her!
Great is Your Faithfulness:
This Sunday we covered Lamentations 3:21-24 where it says:
21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. 22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
As we covered this text in context we learned that Jeremiah didn’t have an easy life nor ministry. In actuality Lamentations 3:21-24 come at a very low moment for Jeremiah. However it is safe to safe to say that no matter how hard things got for Jeremiah, his faith in the Lord kept him going. Jeremiah teaches us how to keep our faith when our situations look grim. Two ways we deal with hard times: Acknowledge the Tension & the Truth. To acknowledge Tension & truth= Prayer but to acknowledge Tension & not Truth is merely complaining. There is a thin line between Praying & Complaining. What do you find yourself doing more?
Also I want to give a special shout out to Amanda Cobb for sharing her testimony on how this scripture has impacted and encouraged her through grief, fear, pain, and now joy.
Family I want to encourage you, that there is no God like our God and we are not consumed by our circumstances nor situations because His mercies are new every morning! Be encouraged by God’s grace and mercy this week and forever more.
