Happy Monday family and friends! I hope each of you are doing well.
This past weekend was a little busy with some traveling and visiting, but it was very refreshing. We traveled down to Cherelle’s parents’ home to visit, and had an awesome Saturday morning breakfast with my parents. This gave opportunity that Chloe could get some quality time with her grandparents. I am learning more and more how to honor my parents by giving opportunity for them to see their granddaughter.
We also attended a wedding in Newport News of one of Cherelle’s good friends. It is rare now-a-days for me to go to a wedding and not have to officiate, but I enjoyed it. It is always good to see God glorified in Holy Matrimony b/t one man and one woman. While at the reception Cherelle and I also had the opportunity to speak and encourage a married couple in the Lord. There are quite a few weddings coming up that I will be officiating, and I want to ask you all to stand in prayer with me about the meaning and significance of marriage. There are many arguments in today’s political, social, and spiritual climate about this topic. It is imperative that we stand on God’s word and live in His standard of one man and one woman, and that that man and that woman depend on Christ to make them the spouse they need to be. Marriage is God’s avenue for order in the earth. If the marriage covenant is weakened, it will weaken our country and churches, as we are already seeing.
Standing in the Storm…
This past Sunday Pastor AJ preached at DUCC, and it was a powerful word from Psalm 62:5-8 entitled “Standing in the Storm”. Pastor AJ encouraged us to 1) Wait on God, 2) Know God, & 3) Trust God. This week Chass Krieder shared a very moving testimony about how this scripture has impacted and encouraged her on her journey overcoming sexual abuse, and finding internal freedom in the Lord. Again special thank you to her for sharing her story!
As we go through this LIFE series I am gaining a greater understanding of the basic human need for FAITH, HOPE, & LOVE. I understand what Paul wrote 1 Cor. 13:13, because all of us need to believe in something greater than us, expect an outcome that works out for our good, and to be loved and to love God and others.
Next week we will be licensing our first set of ministers at DUCC, Marcus Anderson & Roy Mcdonald. I am excited to empower and release them to walk in the ministry the Lord has given them. Please join us at 10am next Sunday for this great occasion and display of God’s grace!
Blessings to you as you embrace God’s love and presence in your life!
