Happy Monday family and friends, I hope each of you are doing well. Today I am reminded of what the original motivation of the Monday Moments was about a year ago. This blog is a platform of Gratitude! As I reflect on the many things God is doing in my life, my family, and church I am continually filled with gratitude. My hope is that you will be encouraged and enlighten as you read from week to week. I also continue to petition you for prayers for my family and I as we endeavor to display the light and power of Christ to the world!
The Big Three: Cherelle and I celebrated our 3year anniversary this past week! I am so grateful for the grace and favor that The Lord has sent me through my wife. These past 3 years have been phenomenal and productive. Here is a quick timeline:
2012- Launched DUCC, Cherelle finished grad school, we found out we were pregnant, 1st Marriage Curriculum written, Travel to South Africa.
2013- Celebrate 1st church anniversary, welcomed Chloe into the world, and endured some major and minor setbacks/storms
2014- Cherelle finished her book & had her 1st women’s conference
The Lord has given us a privileged opportunity to operate in ministry together on many different levels, and we have seen the grace of The Lord pour out abundantly in our lives. We are forever grateful for our wedding party and family that stood and stand beside us as we glorify God in our marriage.
Fellowship: We had the opportunity to have some people over to our house to hangout and play some games this past Friday, and it was REFRESHING. Even though I lost in spades twice, I still enjoyed the opportunity to kick back with some of our spiritual family. I encourage you to spend some time with some people from church outside of church, this is how we grow closer to one another. So whether it is a DUG (Small Group), or intentional time with people, invest in time with great people.
The Benefit Package
I am convinced of Romans 8:28 over my life and yours: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” That’s one of the great benefits of being a child of God! This past Sunday that is exactly what we covered, the fact that God’s promises trump our problems! So I pray that encourages you today and forevermore. To gain God’s benefits we must be Committed to God, Called by God, and Conformed into the image of Christ. All things indeed work together, but you must have those three things in place. Special thanks to Will Maldanado for sharing his testimony with us yesterday. It was truly encouraging and inspiring.
