Hey family and friends, I hope each of you are doing well and enjoying this season where we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. This weekend was quite eventful and some what of a roller coaster. As I explain in these Monday Moments you will understand more.
RIP Aunt Judy: You will be missed:
This past Saturday night, my family experienced the loss of my Aunt Judy. She was my mom’s youngest sister. This was a huge hit to my family and many more people at large. She has been described to be angelic the way she loved and cared for people. She was famous for her chocolate cakes on holidays, and she never missed an important date. She would call everyone on their birthdays & anniversaries. It is truly hard to digest this loss. My heart is hurting for my cousin Lachelle & my Uncle Lionel as their lives have been forever changed. What hurts the most is we had no idea that she was ill & neither did she. She was rushed to the hospital on Thursday, and passed away late Saturday. Please keep my family in prayer as we grieve and celebrate her life.
I must say this last thing. In moments like these I am reminded of why we need a Savior, and the truth that this physical life is meant to be temporary because our gift is eternal life. I greatly rejoice that Aunt Judy truly knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and her Savior.
Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
Romans 8:37-39 “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
My hope is in Christ alone!
Pastor AJ Mosley’s Ministry & Calling
This past Wednesday Pastor AJ had the opportunity to serve with Grace Chantilly’s prophetic team as they baptized 8 new people. They take time to speak words of truth, encouragement, and revelation to the candidates prior to them being baptized… what a powerful moment. Pastor AJ did and excellent job and I am excited to see what the Lord continues to do through him. .
This year’s pastoral retreat was amazing as our theme was “Dream Again”. These retreats are set aside on a quarterly basis for me and my team to spend some quality time with God getting more vision and clarity for our personal lives and ministry. I believe that the Lord has shown us a lot of favor, and I want to publicly say this: Based on the prayers and faith that we submitted this past weekend, DUCC is still just getting started in terms of the impact we are going to have in this city and on the kingdom of God. As we asked the Lord for vision and strategy for the upcoming year I am excited to see the lives that are going to be impacted and people walking in their purpose.
The Stauffers: Power Couple
When I go on these retreats I generally have a guest speaker ministering on Sunday morning at DUCC to cap off the retreat. Carl & Carolyn Stauffer ministered a powerful word on embracing our purpose in Christ. I am truly humbled to have such a couple in our church that come to receiving and give to the body of Christ. I am sure that many people in our church were greatly impacted.
Living in Vision:
As I announced last week that we are EXPANDING our building at DUCC, I was reminded of a moment in 2007 where I first believed that the Lord was going to give us a shopping center. We are instructed in Habbukuk 2:2-4 to write the vision and make it plain, and that’s exactly what I did, and I Am continually humbled and over joyed that I am walking and living in that vision. While we don’t have the entire shopping center I am believing that we will continue to experience God’s favor and grace until that time comes. I found the original picture at my house of that moment when I believed God for the shopping center. I have attached that as well.
Also as we expand, I continue to encourage you to give to our Expand Campaign. We are experiencing generosity from many areas, and I believe that there is a special blessing for each of us that sow a seed into this vision. In the Master’s will,
