24 hr bug (Why my Monday Moment is on Tuesday J)
Yesterday morning, I woke up feeling a little weird. My stomach was in a knot, and within 15mins of being awake I started having chills. Let’s just say things went downhill from there. I had to leave work early, and once I got back home I got under layers of blankets and slept for 4hrs. When I woke up I a little dinner, but around 2am I was reminded of everything I had ate as I crawled to the bathroom and vomited. However I am glad to say that today I am feeling 100% better! There is something going around, and two other people in my church were hit with something similar on Sunday. My suggestion is when people say they are sick- EXILE THEM TO A FOREIGN LAND…When they are feeling better, welcome them in with open arms, lol.
Quality Family Time:
This past weekend I had some quality Daddy-Daughter time with Chloe as we watched cartoons, and ate bananas, and napped! It was great. I am continually reminded that I have the opportunity to set the standard of love in her life! My hope is that she will see the love of Christ model in Cherelle’s and I life and marriage on a daily basis. Speaking of Cherelle and I, we had an awesome date this past Saturday, as she surprised me with a special trip. I enjoy time with my wife, it is one of the most refreshing, and recharging moments in my life. I continually witness God’s grace flowing through for me in my life. I love you BABY!
Superbowl?
DUCC had it’s 3rd annual SuperBowl party. We had a great time eating, and fellowshipping. We also had a great turn out here at the church. The game was pretty much over in the first half, and Denver never had a chance! Seattle put on a show! It has always been said: “Offense draws crowds, but Defenses win championships.” At least two years in a row this has been the case when it comes to NFL Superbowl games! Congrats to the Seattle Seahawks! Sidenote, I think it is interesting that Peyton Manning is getting more media coverage in his loss, than the Seahawks are as the winner. Also, there are quite a few believers on the Seahawks team, and I pray the good news of Jesus Christ will be spread even more!
Upheld!
This Sunday we kicked off our anniversary month here at DUCC. As we celebrate 2 years we are having different Pillars of Faith coming in ministering through word to our leadership and congregation. These men have played vital roles in my life and ministry and I am delighted to know this caliber of men!
Uncle Merle aka Pastor Merle Shank of Grace Covenant Harrisonburg ministered this past Sunday as the opening Pillar. I am so grateful for men like him in my life, and men like him in the body of Christ. Uncle Merle models integrity and a holy dependence on God’s grace! He delivered a word from Hebrews 12 of encouragement, exhortation, and instruction. As DUCC embraces it’s 3rd year of service there are some things that will change, and we will have to deal with growing pains, but there is grace for us as we run the race the Lord has set out for DUCC. I am excited for where the Lord is taking us, and as we continue to discover our identity in Him.
I want to encourage you to run the race the Lord has charted out for you in this season. Don’t compare, complain, or compete with other people. Fix your eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of your faith!
